Can I play GamerX games offline?
Yes, through the Chrome extensions and the Android app. They carry the games with them, so once installed they run with no internet at all — on a plane, on a train, or on a network that has stopped cooperating. The website itself needs a connection, because the games are downloaded as you open them.
Do I need to install anything to play on the website?
No. The website is the main way to play and it needs nothing installed, no account and no sign-up — you open a game page and the game is already running. The apps exist for playing without a connection, not as a way in.
Are the apps free, and do they contain ads?
All of them are free. The Android app contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK, so you will not see an ad in it. The website carries display advertising, which is how it pays for itself.
Why are the games on itch.io different from the ones here?
They are separate catalogues published at different times. The arcade on this site is the complete, current collection and is the one that gets new games first.
